The mission of BC Timber Sales (BCTS) is to develop and market Crown timber to establish the costs of development and the market price to capture the value of the asset for the public. The vision of the organization is to be an effective timber marketer generating wealth through sustainable resource management.

A rewarding opportunity exists for experienced professional foresters in the Kamloops Business Area, currently in the Clearwater field team location As Practices Forester, you perform a wide variety of professional and technical services to support the development and operational stages of pre and post Timber Sale License awards and active harvest operations within your field team. Working with a team of forest professionals including BCTS staff and external contractors, your responsibilities include operational planning and management of silviculture obligations on BCTS area in accordance with the requirements of the Business Areas’ Forest Stewardship Plan considering ecosystem factors and BCTS business and financial objectives. Additional duties include overseeing and/or performing site suitability, degradation, regeneration and free growing surveys and assessments. You ensure all activities associated with these responsibilities are consistent with BCTS business and financial goals and objectives and are technically effective and appropriate.
