We have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Forester for our operations in Fort St. James.
Reporting to the Apollo Operations Forester and working with the Sinclar Strategic Planning Forester, this position will be responsible and accountable for forest planning to obtain the necessary approvals to provide the required wood volumes and profile for the Apollo facility and other fiber customers in the region. This includes negotiations and stakeholder relationship management for all licensing and tenure agreements in the company's operation areas of the Fort St. James District.
The candidate must enjoy working in a small team environment where individual responsibility is determinant to the success of the team and forestry operations as a whole. Responsibilities will include safety practices, program and cost effectiveness, stakeholder relations, as well as quality and environmental standards.
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Professional Forester with a minimum of 5 years related experience and demonstrated professionalism. Preference will be given to candidates who reside in the Fort St. James area and who have experience working with First Nations communities.
