Planning Forester (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

Full Time

  Hays (http://www.hays.ca/)

  British Columbia, British Columbia, Canada

One of Canada’s leading lumber producers is in need of a Planning Forester to join their team in a beautiful location in British Columbia. This role will give you the opportunity to advance your career through providing mentoring and guidance to junior foresters and taking on greater levels of responsibility.

This role is located in one of the most stunning locations in British Columbia that is close to major centres for convenience, but remote enough for a truly exceptional outdoor lifestyle. With a host of summer and winter activities, you and your family can enjoy mountain biking, horse riding, skiing and sledding locally, all whilst continuing to develop your career.

On a day to day basis you will form an instrumental part of the forestry operations team, where you will conduct the planning and reconnaissance for the development of the area. You will be responsible for acquiring permits from the government and managing critical stakeholder relationships including First Nations and the public. In working for one of the most progressive businesses in the industry, this role will be best suited to a creative and entrepreneurial individual who is constantly looking for ways to improve the business.

To be suitable for this role you will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Forestry and be a Registered Professional Forester in British Columbia. As this role requires a senior team mentor, the successful candidate will be an experience forester with more than eight years in the industry. This role is currently available to those eligible to work in Canada or to United States citizens.

This role is ideally suited to a candidate who is looking to take their career to the next level with one of North America’s largest producers.
