PLANER SUPERVISOR, Fort St. John, BC

GENERAL:
Reporting to the Planer Superintendent, the Planer Supervisor is responsible for providing overall supervision of the planer mills. This will be accomplished while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. The Planer Supervisor is responsible for achieving the planned quality, recovery and production targets while working within approved budgets.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Facilitate and promote a safe and positive working environment for all
employees.
Ensure that the established safety, quality, production, environment and
cost performance objectives are met or exceeded on a consistent basis.
Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, coordinate production
with the maintenance and cleanup schedules to ensure safe and efficient
production operation.
Proactively identify opportunities to reduce costs and maximize the safe
production of lumber by optimizing the manufacturing process.
Provide leadership, guidance and promote open communication for all
employees on your shift.
Coach, train and support team members to attain optimum results.
