  • Experience:
    • Experience in a wood products manufacturing environment as a supervisor or superintendent.
    • Maintenance experience would be an asset.
  • Education:
    • Post-secondary education in wood products or forestry would be an asset.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Proficiency in contemporary business management skills such as Microsoft Office applications and the understanding of financial principles.
    • An ability to be an effective leader and communicator with strong verbal, written and oral presentation skills.
    • Strong organizational skills with the desire to accept the challenge of working in continually changing internal and external business conditions.
    • Must be a team play with excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem solving skills.
    • Solid knowledge of Performance Management and Continual Improvement processes.
    • Solid understanding and knowledge of optimization equipment and process.
    • Sound knowledge of marketing and product mix. Proven ability to lead in safety and engage people in process management.
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Ensure the highest level of safety standard, ensuring compliance with all applicable government regulations and corporate policies
    • Responsible for optimizing production performance.
    • Ensure the highest level of quality control and product presentation standards for customer satisfaction.
    • Assist in the development of supervisory personnel.
    • Maintain a liaison with ongoing continuous improvement and quality control initiatives.
    • Assist in management of the annual budget and cost control program.
    • Ensure full compliance with applicable government regulations, corporate policies and environmental permits
