Our client has an exciting position available for a Paper Operations Specialist located in beautiful Port Alberni, BC. Reporting to the Manager, Paper Machine this role provides manufacturing expertise and knowledge to support achieving the manufacturing objectives of the company. • Experience:

  • Preference will be given to applicants with operational experience and/or engineering and technical background.
  • Candidates must have paper making experience (currently supervisor or operations specialist) or a Process Engineer with paper experience.

• Duties and Responsibilities:

  Key accountabilities of this role are:

  • Ensure operators have knowledge, experience and procedures to make      product safely and efficiently to specification;
  • Provide timely communication of equipment maintenance requirements;
  • Maintain lock out and confined space procedures;
  • Maintain operator technical training materials;
  • Ensure daily operating plans are communicated and executed;
  • Direct the activities of crew on maintenance down days;
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise;
  • Optimize manufacturing processes and recommend equipment and process improvements to achieve manufacturing objectives.
