Northern BC Sawmill Production Superintendent

INDUSTRY: Forestry Manufacturing

This is an outstanding chance to take control of a high-performance department in one of BC’s most established and stable industries! We’re needing an Operations Superintendent (akin to a Production Manager) to oversee sawmill operations for one of our major clients! You would be running as the plant manager’s right hand, and partnering with the maintenance manager to ensure the plant is running smoothly and meeting production targets. This role encompasses supervising and managing both the production floor and the quality control departments! Add in being able to live lakeside in Beautiful British Columbia in a fantastic community, and you should already have applied! Twice!

JOB DESCRIPTION:
As an operations superintendent, you would be responsible for establishing targets for the production and QC departments, and leading them towards achieving those goals through coaching and performance management. Responsibility for both the production floor and the QC/Quality Control departments lies with this person, and they will have a set of team leaders reporting in to them directly on the status of the mill. 

REQUIREMENTS:
• Supervisory/Management experience in a Sawmill Setting (5 years)
• Direct responsibility for multiple departments simultaneously (4 years)
• Strong leadership/coaching/mentoring ability
• Change management and continuous improvement experience
• Able to Relocate

Compensation

SALARY: $100,000 – $115,000

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The role has a base salary of $100,000-$115,000. It also includes a negotiable benefits package including vacation, dental and extended medical, MSP, Pension Contributions and more.
