Operations Specialist - Paper Operations (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

Our client's mill in BC has an immediate opening for an Operations Specialist, Paper Operations.   Reporting to the Manager, Paper Machine this role provides manufacturing expertise and knowledge to support achieving the manufacturing objectives of the company.

Key accountabilities of this role are:

•   Ensure operators have knowledge, experience and procedures to make    product safely and efficiently to specification;
•    Provide timely communication of equipment maintenance requirements;
•    Maintain lock out and confined space procedures;
•    Maintain operator technical training materials;
•    Ensure daily operating plans are communicated and executed;
•    Direct the activities of crew on maintenance down days;
•    Provide troubleshooting expertise;
•    Optimize manufacturing processes and recommend equipment and process improvements to achieve manufacturing objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to develop and train others.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead change including driving improvements toward a safe work culture with a customer and quality focus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment; highly self-motivated
  • Proven problem-solving and trouble-shooting abilities
  • Preference will be given to applicants with operational experience and/or engineering and technical background.
