SALARY: $100,000 – $115,000+

We’re needing an Operations Superintendent (akin to a Production Manager) to oversee sawmill operations for one of our major clients! You would be running as the plant manager’s right hand, and partnering with the maintenance manager to ensure the plant is running smoothly and meeting production targets. This role encompasses supervising and managing both the production floor and the quality control departments! JOB DESCRIPTION:
As an operations superintendent, you would be responsible for establishing targets for the production and QC departments, and leading them towards achieving those goals through coaching and performance management. Responsibility for both the production floor and the QC/Quality Control departments lies with this person, and they will have a set of team leaders reporting in to them directly on the status of the mill. You will act as the right hand to the plant manager, and will also have active responsibilities regarding budgeting, production planning and long and short range business planning for the operation. 

REQUIREMENTS:
• The core requirement is 5-10 years as a production manager or superintendent in a sawmill setting
o Secondary manufacturing experience (non-sawmill) is not considered an asset
• Applicants must also have a demonstrated ability to lead multiple departments within an organization
• A track record for mentorship and team development will also be required
• Experience with continuous improvement and change management will also be an asset
• Applicants must have the ability to relocate
• A desire to work with an outstanding organization in a beautiful town in BC’s interior

Compensation

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The role has a base salary range of $100,000 - $115,000. Also included? An outstanding benefits package with a good deal of flexibility, Vacation time, bonus potential, pension contributions and a relocation package to assist with the move. You’ll also be working in a center with a lower cost of living than you would find in a major population center, so your salary goes much farther than it otherwise might.
