Australian Sustainable Hardwoods (ASH) located in Heyfield, Victoria, is the largest hardwood sawmill and timber processing centre operating in Australia. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead all aspects of operational and commercial performance across the two milling facilities. Your primary focus will be to maximise short and long term profitability and safety outcomes. Your strong communication and influencing skills will enable you to represent the company well in public and relevant industry forums. Achieving outcomes through people and a strong sense of priorities will enable you to maintain and build on the success achieved to date.

As a self-starter with contemporary management skills, you will have demonstrated a continuous improvement mind-set that has seen you lift profitability by driving innovation and production best practices. Your exceptional leadership will promote a culture of teamwork across the sites, enabling the business to meet the demands of customers and the broader market. You will have a proven track record of instilling a safety culture.

Ideally you will have a tertiary qualification in forest science, timber technology, engineering or relevant discipline. Your proven ability in operations management and exposure to sales and distribution will be highly regarded. Experience and a sound understanding of timber technology and exposure to mechanised and automated manufacturing systems are highly desirable.
