Our client, an international forestry company based in Vancouver, is looking for an Operations Manager to oversee Paper operations in their Powell River facility. This will be a management role where you will develop and direct the entire team to attain manufacturing objectives.

Job Description:

  • Participate in organizational strategic planning, where you will actively pursue the improvement and implementation of safety, environmental compliance, workforce engagement and reliability in day-to-day operations
  • Establish and implement operational policies, goals, objectives, and procedures
  • Actively manage staff, engaging members and creating a culture that fosters growth and operational excellence
  • Lead capital resource allocation planning and implementation
  • Manage P&L responsibilities
  • Measure productivity and goal achievement, determining areas for cost reduction and program improvement

The company will expect from you:

  • 5 or more years direct experience in a senior management capacity in a manufacturing and operations environment, pulp & paper industry a must
  • Degree in Engineering or technical field, registered (or eligible to be) with APEGBC
  • Successful track record in lean manufacturing and operations initiatives and implementations
  • Excellent leadership and mentorship skills
  • Committed to safety
