Tolko is seeking a highly motivated individual to assume an exciting, multifaceted role within our Prairie Woodlands group servicing the Tolko High Level Lumber Division.  Under the direction of the Forestry Superintendent, the Operations Forester will work in a team environment to develop 5 year and 1 year Operational Plans that meet mill volume requirements, allow efficient access to wood supply, and consider multi-stakeholder requirements.   Experience with operational planning, First Nation consultation, ArcGIS and other spatial technology, online applications, data management, and harvesting and production are considered an asset.  The position is predominantly an office based role, with opportunity to visit operations in High Level.  This is a great opportunity to be a part of a co-operative Woodlands team .

QUALIFICATIONS:

· University Degree or Technical Diploma in Forestry;

· 3-5 years related industry experience;

· Active Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Forest Technician (RFT) designation or be eligible for registration with CAPF or CAPFT;

· Must possess a good understanding of technical forest management including planning, logging systems and GIS;

· Thorough understanding of forest policy, guidelines, and regulations;

· A proven commitment to safety;

· Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills;

· Strong communication skills;

· Must be able to manage multiple projects and maintain current knowledge of government policies and regulations.

· Intermediate to advanced MS Office suite skills
