Millwright (Maintenance & Trades)

Our client is a leader in the pulp & paper manufacturing industry. They have operations in Canada & the USA. They’re looking for a millwright to join their growing team in Port Alberni, BC.

The Role

• Troubleshoot complex mechanical & fluid power systems
• Install, maintain & repair a wide variety of mechanical equipment
• Operate & inspect material handling equipment (ex: cranes) & light mobile equipment (ex: forklifts)
• Clearly document & communicate completed tasks
• Read & interpret blueprints/drawings, produce rough sketches
• Set-up and perform precision alignments on equipment
• Work with other trades in a team environment
• Assist in running & troubleshooting mill process equipment
• Perform routine inspections of mill equipment
• Use computerized maintenance management system to enter work requests & purchase supplies
• Unionized environment
• Shifts work: 9 hours Monday-Thursday, 8 hours on Fridays with every other Friday off

Requirements

• Journeyman millwright
• Red Seal preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent troubleshooting & interpersonal skills
• Compensation
• Hourly compensation ($34/hr typical)
