Our client, a leading forestry player operating in various locations throughout North America, is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Technologist with proven track record in the Forestry industry. The perfect candidate will have superb technical and management skills to improve productivity, quality and profitability in the facility's maintenance and production initiatives. This position will be based in their world class facility in Prince George.

Job Description:

  • Develop, design and execute maintenance improvement programs, performing root cause analysis and making improvements to enhance safety and efficiency
  • Ensure appropriate preventive measures are in place, improving processes and eliminating future failures
  • Assist in coordinating maintenance scheduling and work force process for the facility
  • Maintain records of asset history
  • Main point of contact for third party suppliers of inventory and parts
  • Assist in the organization's yearly planning
  • Maintain safety standards and conduct relevant training within the plant site

The company will expect from you:

  • 5+ years experience in a similar role, forestry / pulp & paper industry experience is a must
  • Mechanical engineering degree, P. Eng ideal or eligibility to register
  • Proven expertise in facilitating team dynamics within a unionized environment

 

Compensation

In return you can expect:

$80-110,000, depending on experience plus pension and benefits
