MANAGER OF LOG SUPPLY
RICHMOND PLYWOOD CORPORATION LIMITED (Richply) is a major manufacturer of plywood located in Richmond, B.C. Founded in 1956, we now employ about 400 people. We require a Manager of Log Supply to join our management team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Arrange all purchases and manage storage and transportation of logs suitable for veneer production at Richply (approximately 275 MMSF 3/8th of plywood per year).
- Create a weekly "log menu" to generate the quantity and quality of veneer necessary, and manage this volume to support Richply's plywood manufacturing program.
- Direct forest management activities on each of Richply's two forest licenses (approximately 60,000 M3 per year).
- Direct forest management services for a community forest in which Richply is an operating partner.
- Work with all members of the senior management team to ensure the success of Richply.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive experience in forest management and strong knowledge of the B.C. Forest Practices Code of B.C. Act and other regulatory bodies such as WorkSafeBC
- Experience in log trading
- Forestry degree would be an asset
- Computer literacy required
