This opportunity may be the right fit for you because we are looking for a forestry business professional to manage the financial matters and contract administration of Tree Farm License #26 (TFL26) and to assist in the pursuit and development of other business opportunities. It is an exciting time to join our team as we are working collaboratively with local First Nations, stakeholders, and the Province on a tourism and recreation plan for Stave West within TFL26.

Reporting to the Director of Forestry, the Manager of Forestry Business is responsible to provide sound knowledge and administration skills to the micro- and macro-economic implications of managing the forestry and business operations on TFL26.

You will use your financial acumen for your fiscal management responsibilities, such as the budget and financial statement preparation, procurement processes, inventory tracking and analyzing of log sales, and contract administration. You will demonstrate your understanding of sound business practices in assessing and analyzing business cases for potential revenue and employment generating opportunities.

You will possess an open, team-oriented leadership style and welcome the challenge of seeking continuous improvements in organizational efficiency. It is essential that you are able to develop and maintain positive relationships with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ progressive related experience in the Forest Industry, including management experience. You will have training and knowledge in coastal forestry practices to complement your post-secondary education in financial management or business administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
