Job Description:
The Management Forester will assist in planning and implementation of land management activities and services on behalf of an institutional investment client(s) and private landowners.
Essential Functions:
- Analysis and reporting
- Silvicultural and harvest scheduling and budgeting
- Field data collection
- Assist in preparation of timber sales
- Harvest monitoring and quality control
- Monitor BMP and sustainability program compliance
- Timber security procedures
- Contractor supervision
- Other duties as assigned
This is a field based position. Applicants must be self-motivated and comfortable working alone or in a group setting in diverse forest types and weather conditions. Applicant must possess the ability and desire to meet strict deadlines with excellent attention to detail and commitment to error-free work. Periodic overnight travel is required.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management or related field
- 3 - 5 years experience required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ArcView
- Competency in use of forestry field equipment including compass, clinometer and field GPS technology, and GIS mapping
Minimum experience: 3-5 years
Minimum Education: BA/BS/Undergraduate
