Our client, a thriving plant located on picturesque Vancouver Island, is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor. This is a leadership role with responsibility for keeping operations running smoothly, safely and maximizing the plant efficiency.

Job Description:

  • Oversee team of maintenance staff through daily operations with high attention to safe procedures
  • Ensure high quality of product output, cost effectiveness and maximized production through machinery maintenance
  • Supervise, train and motivate current and new employees on an unionized site

The company will expect from you:

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the ideal candidate will have a maintenance background as a Mechanical Engineer or solid previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor. You will also have the ability to lead and direct a unionized team.  In addition to the technical and management experience, the personality and corporate culture fit of the candidate will be critical in the selection. Other desirable attributes include:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial manufacturing facility with pulp and paper experience mandatory
  • Familiarity in supervision of unionized employees
  • Expert in maintenance systems and overall manufacturing operations
  • Thorough knowledge of Worksafe BC policy and procedure
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience with maintenance scheduling software is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Compensation

In return you can expect:

$90,000 annual salary plus benefits
