Our client, an international forestry company with facilities in Fort St. James, is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor. This is a leadership role with responsibility for keeping operations running smoothly, safely and maximizing the plant efficiency.
Job Description:
- Oversee team of maintenance staff through daily operations with high attention to safe procedures
- Ensure high quality of product output, cost effectiveness and maximized production through machinery maintenance
- Supervise, train and motivate current and new employees
The company will expect from you:
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the ideal candidate will have a maintenance background as either a Millwright or Electrician. You will also have the ability to lead and direct a unionized team. In addition to the technical and management experience, the personality and corporate culture fit of the candidate will be critical in the selection. Other desirable attributes include:
- 5+ years experience in an industrial manufacturing facility with sawmill experience being an asset
- Expert in maintenance systems and overall manufacturing operations
- Thorough knowledge of Worksafe BC policy and procedure
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with maintenance scheduling software is an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation
In return you can expect: $75-85,000 annual salary plus extras
