We are currently seeking a lumber inspector for our sawmill facility located in Trempealeau, WI.

General Job Description

To inspect green lumber manufactured by our sawmill and vendors according to NHLA and proprietary criteria. Ensure the quality of the lumber is held to our company standards. Experience with grading Walnut preferred but not required.  

Specific Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

• • To look at both faces of board and determine grade as well as trimming, ripping and marking with correct mark.
  • To help repair minor maintenance breakdowns (broken chain, crossed up lumber, or jam ups).
  • Communicate with lumber pullers and machine operators to ensure a consistent flow of lumber.
  • To operate the edger, chop saw, & log tuner for a certain length of time (graders rotate times operating these machines).  
  • To perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Experience

• • NHLA Certified lumber inspector or Two plus years inspecting hardwoods. 
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs, troubleshooting and flow.
