Job Requirements:
NOTE: This job requires you to be away from Timmins every other night
Languages: Bilingual
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A); Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer; Van
Type of Travel: Long-haul; Provincial/territorial
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook; Bill of lading; Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills
Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials; Loading and unloading of goods; Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo; Use atlases and other trip planning aids; Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment; Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness; Perform emergency roadside repairs
Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding
Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel overnight; Valid driver's licence
