Logistics Coordinator

Essential Responsibilities:
• Assists business logistics manager in providing common and contract trucking services for all operating divisions. Also assist in rail queries and opportunities for rate quotes
• Make routing and carrier recommendations to business logistics managers and modal experts
• Manage and resolve freight audits and discrepancies through accounts payable
• Negotiates rates for flatbed, vans, and curtain van truck shipments
• Monitor and analyze truckload volumes to optimize utilization of all flatbed, curtain, and van capacity
• Monitor and analyze rail volumes to optimize utilization of certain rail car types
• Assist in daily dispatching/tendering of loads within the Transwork system
• Assist in the daily scheduling of appointments and issues that arise
• Set up, track and trace carriers and or shipments within the Transwork system
• Answer sales and customer service queries on shipment logistics details
• Monitors carrier compliance, carrier information files, maintenance of tariffs
Minimum Qualifications:
• Two or more years of dispatch related experience preferred
• Associates/bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
• Detail orientated and capability of switching tasks while working under pressure
• Ability to coordinate with other business units include sales, manufacturing, and resources in order to complete tasks and projects
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be self motivated and be able to work with little supervision
• Excellent telephone etiquette and skills
• Inventory reconciliation experience desired
• Be willing to work non-standard hours when necessary
• Strong team player and contributes to a high performing team environment
• Strong computer skills with demonstrated competence in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, keyboarding, numerical keypad and other applications
• Knowledge of Transwork system a plus
