Description

The Land Use Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager with responsibilities for managing land use and non-hunting related access in the Pacific Resource Unit.  The Land Use Specialist will assist the Resource Development Manager with Identification of recorded easements that impact recreational access programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in natural resources, business, or contract administration.
  • Four years in various land use and/or contract management functions.
  • Ability to meet and negotiate with individuals outside of Rayonier.  Must be able to convey or explain moderately complex thoughts or subjects via written documents.
  • Knowledge of Forest Practices Rules, Sustainable Forestry Initiative.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent personal computer skills in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of land and timber valuation, road use and road easement agreements and road construction and maintenance costs and an understanding of logging systems
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of state and federal safety and environmental health law and regulations.
