Salary $63,833.99 - $73,013.78 annually

The Resource Management Division of the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations (FLNRO) works to maintain and restore the natural diversity of ecosystems, fish and wildlife species and their habitats.


Land use issues in the province are dynamic and constantly evolving, making for interesting and challenging work. The Land and Resource Planning Specialist leads and manages one or more significant provincial or regional priority projects relating to industrial activity, cumulative effects, Species at Risk, First Nation engagement and natural resource planning.

Of particular note and an immediate focus for the incumbent will be to lead and manage the implementation of the Peace Northern Caribou Plan (PNCP) and to support the project’s Strategic Lead to forge strong working relationships with other ministries, First Nations, the private sector and representatives from other agencies to find the balance between economic development and environmental integrity necessary to support the development, approval and implementation of this Plan.

The incumbent may also participate on additional planning teams including, but not limited to, integrated and ecosystem based planning, planning for forests, lands, recreation, mineral, and natural gas within the Northeast Region or North Area.
