Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Fibre Line Superintendent, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Fibre line Superintendent in the safe, economical, continuous operation of the Pulp Machine, Pulp Mill and Chip Supply areas by directing the hourly workforce, bearing in mind the company's goals to achieve these ends.

Specific Accountabilities and Key Activities

  •          Job training for new employees
  •          Monitor all aspects of safety pertaining to crew
  •          Direct hourly workforce in the continuous operation of the pulp production areas
  •         Maintain operating standards to achieve optimum process quality
  •         Ensure that targets are met and scheduling of staff is achieved to minimize overtime
  •         Maintain a management style that is supportive of employees, solves problems and grievances at supervisory level and promotes company policies and procedures.

Employment Qualifications

University or Technical College degree plus 2 years of pulp mill experience. High school graduate with 5 years' direct and related experience may also be considered.
