Position Description

This position will be an accountant at a specific mill location, working alongside another senior financial team member. 

The incumbent will be responsible for 

• Day to day duties in association with mill bookkeeping
• Assisting in the preparation of financial statements 
• Reports to senior management, such as budgeting and costing analysis
• Capital asset and major maintenance tracking
• General ledger and account reconciliations
• Assist with the preparation of the annual business plan, monthly/ quarterly and yearly forecasting
• Help coach other operations personnel on financial matters related to their area of operation
• Other duties as required

Requirements and Qualifications

Strong analytical and bookkeeping skills are a requirement, however, this position does not require the completion of an accounting designation, the company would be willing to consider more junior candidates if they are young in their career have an entrepreneurial nature and strong business acumen.

Major assets to this position are experience in forestry or manufacturing, experience with Great Plains software system. As well as a willingness to relocate to Northern BC.

Education Requirements

• A bachelor degree or diploma in accounting
• Strong business acumen and drive to grow within a company

Compensation

This position will be compensated at a salary range of 50-65k per annum.

An excellent benefits package including dental, extended medical MSP paid, paramedicals, pension, RRSP’s paid as well as tuition reimbursement. This position offers 2-3 weeks’ vacation to start.
