Job opening for an Industrial Electrician with forest products experience in Terrace, BC.

Qualifications:
• Excellent communication (English), work prioritization and time management skills are mandatory;
• Team player able to manage and work with a team of other skilled trades is needed;
• Knowledge of traditional two line sawmill with basic PLC optimization technology is highly beneficial;
• Knowledge and application of health and safety requirements is a must;
• Troubleshooting ability and computer literacy also required.

Requirements:
• Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program and a B.C. Certificate of Apprenticeship or Red Seal certification;
• 5-10 years as an industrial electrician with some or all of the experience in a sawmill or equivalent setting;
• Experience in making sawmill modernization improvements or upgrades at other facilities would be highly beneficial.

Our client, an independent, community minded sawmill based in Northwestern British Columbia (BC), is currently hiring an Industrial Electrician with forest products experience.

Primary responsibilities include: 
• Maintenance, repair, installation and modification of all sawmill-related electrical equipment including planer and kiln; 
• Verify and document repairs;
• Prioritizing workflow and logistics; 
• Communication with staff, suppliers and other service providers.

Compensation

Salary: $35-40/hour based on United Steelworkers contract rates plus very good benefits package. Other Benefits: Relocation allowance and temporary living allowance will be considered.
