ABC Tree Men is seeking a heavy duty mechanic (NOC 7312) for our location in the Burnaby area.
Main responsiblity and duties as a Heavy Duty Mechanic (NOC 7312) include but are not limited to:
- Check and inspect various heavy duty equpment, including tractors, bulldozers, trucks, trailers, loaders, chainsaws and other heavy duty/logging, eqipment;
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment and perfom repairs, adjustments and replacements as necesasry;
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance to make sure it meets manufactures specifications;
- Apply knowledge of heavy duty equipment;
- Ensure that repairs remain within apprived budget;
- Perform routine maintenance work on equipment;
- Source and order parts needed for repairs and maintenance;
- Supervise and train staff working with or on this equipment;
- Maintain accurate daily logs of inspections and completed work;
- Striclty follow all established safety rules and procedures
Requirements
- Must have completed apprenticeship or vocational program in a closely related field or have a combination of at least 3 years work experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in heavy equipment repair;
- Must be able to work with heavy, large mechanical parts and be able to lift up to 45kg (100lbs);
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English;
- Must have good sense to diagnose problems;
- Must be able and comfortable to work at heights;
- Must be able to work overtime including weekends as necessary;
- Must have above average solving skills and be detailed-orientated;
- Must have a vaild driver's license
Compensation
It's a full time position (40 hours/week), $32/hour, paid on semi-monthly basis, 4% vacation pay.
