We are looking for someone with leadership and vision to enhance our Health & Safety program. The successful candidate will work closely with management and production supervisors and will be responsible for the continued development, maintenance, promotion and performance of our health and safety programs.
The key job duties in this role will include:
• Providing safety orientation to new hires and contractors
• Providing ongoing safety training to employees, supervisors and administration
• Conducting near miss and accident investigations, performing root-cause analysis and providing and following up on resulting recommendations
• Leading and performing health and safety audits and inspections as required
• Working with supervisors to identify, correct and monitor employees’ safety concerns and correcting safety hazards
• Ensuring that health & safety policies and procedures are correct and up to date
• Ensuring that employee training (including WHMIS, first aid, forklift, man-lift, crane etc.) is current.
We are looking for candidates who:
• Have knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Have 3 or more years of health and safety experience
• Have excellent attention to detail
• Can demonstrate critical thinking and decision making skills
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
