Interfor is currently recruiting for a Harvesting Supervisor at our Castlegar Woodlands Operations based in Nakusp, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with logging contractor management with a strong commitment to safety.

Position Details:

Major responsibilities: 

  • Supervise full phase logging contractors and road building.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities to plan and implement harvesting operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of appraisal data; waste and residue surveys and submissions; bridge and major structure inspection and reporting.
Required Skills
  • Demonstrated interest and aptitude in safety, innovation, harvesting techniques, road construction, and log quality
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with government agencies, contractors, suppliers, First Nations and stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment
  • Detail/results oriented
  • Strong computer skills and related software knowledge including forestry applications
  • Dependable and high level of physical fitness
Required Experience     
  • Must be RPF registered or eligible to register with the Association of BC Forest Professionals
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity within the forestry industry
  • Background in road and cutblock layout, surveying, cruising and/or scaling, a working knowledge of harvesting systems including cable
