Interfor is currently recruiting for a Harvesting Supervisor for our Adams Lake Woodlands Operations based in Chase, British Columbia. This position will be responsible for assisting with logging contractor management with a strong commitment to safety.

Position Details:

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supervise full phase logging contractors and road building.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities to plan and implement harvesting operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of appraisal data, waste/residue surveys and submissions, bridge and major structure inspection, and reporting.
Required Skills
  • Strong safety leadership skills and the ability to identify and reduce risk throughout operations
  • Demonstrated interest and aptitude in innovation, harvesting techniques, road construction, and log quality
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with government agencies, contractors, suppliers, First Nations and stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment
  • Detail and results oriented
  • Strong computer skills and related software knowledge including forestry applications
Required Experience    
  • Must have RPF designation or eligible to register with the Association of BC Forest Professionals
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity within the forestry industry
  • Background in road and cutblock layout, surveying, cruising and/or scalin
  • Working knowledge of harvesting systems including cable
  • Dependable and high level of physical fitness
