Job Description:
The role of Harvesting and Logistics Supervisor plays a key function in overseeing planning and operational supervision of timber harvesting and transport operations in the NZ Southern North Island. The particular emphasis of the role will be managing safety, environmental and production requirements of existing operations, negotiating new forest harvest and marketing contracts and assessment of forest blocks. There will also be a requirement to provide operational support to the Pentarch Operations and Logistics Manager from time to time in coordinating port operations and ship loading activities
Experience and Attributes:
- Strong communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders and clients.
- An ability to supervise operational contracts to a high level of performance.
- Knowledge of forest harvesting, safety practices and log value recovery.
- Minimum 5 years supervision or work experience in forest operations.
- Knowledge of harvest planning, road and skid construction.
- Knowledge of domestic and export log markets.
- An ability to operate computer-based management systems and tools.
- A relevant tertiary qualification will be favourably considered.
