Years Experience Required: Minimum 5 years as Production Superintendent at a sawmill.
Description:
The General Manager plans and administers the activities of the sawmill within the guidelines of company policies to achieve budgeted objectives. The General Manager has a role in planning and performance in all areas, safety, forecasting and budgeting, production, quality, process control, maintenance and administration of personnel in order to promote excellence as established in the Company vision, mission and values.
Strong management and communication skills. Solid profit and loss experience in a saw mill. P&L experience, safety commitment, cost control, an understanding of purchasing, reliability, and customer service are critical. An understanding of cost reduction and efficiency control across all areas of the business are very important.
This is a training position at an existing sawmill to possibly oversee a new sawmill located in another state.
