General Foreman

WFP is currently seeking a General Foreman to join our Englewood Forest Operation located in Woss, BC, approximately 1.5 hrs. north of Campbell River.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Ensuring operations are carried out safely and in compliance with applicable WCB regulations and WFP standards;
- A proven commitment to safety with a good working knowledge of applicable occupational health & safety and environmental regulations;
- Maintaining controls related to CSA & ISO Certification and the Environmental Management System;
- Maintaining high log quality standards that support the business objectives & goals;
- Establishing competitive Phase Contract rates;
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Evidence of strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills;
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written);
- A high energy level coupled with high personal standards and expectations;
- Effective planning, time management and organizational skills;
- Ability to analyze operating costs, communicate results and develop departmental financial plans;
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of logging, including mechanical falling & processing;
- Good working knowledge of Coast Master Agreement
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and basic understanding of Microsoft Office
The successful candidate may be asked to supervisor projects, be required to act as a relief Supervisor and be expected to maintain log quality, while negotiating and managing phase contractors and other routine responsibilities.
