Forestry Technician (Technologists & Technicians)

HAF Forest Services Inc. is a professional and dynamic resource consulting company, delivering integrated forest management and development services to clients throughout northern Vancouver Island.  We specialize in multi-phase forestry services covering the full scope of forest management, including timber reconnaissance and inventory, road location and design, timber development, silviculture site plans, and operational mapping.

We have an immediate opening for a forestry technician.  The candidate is required to do shift work in Holberg, B.C.  The position is project based and will be completed by May 2016.  ability and the availability of more work.
 
Qualifications:

• A B.Sc. in Forestry
• Minimum 2 years of experience forest engineering
• Candidates must be registered with the ABCFP (or eligible for registration) as a forest
• technologist (RFT)
• Be a team player with a strong commitment to safe work procedures
• Have excellent communication and problem solving skills and be able to adapt to
• quickly changing work plans
• Must be physically fit and willing to work in variable and often adverse weather
• conditions
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with block and road layout, traversing, timber cruising, RoadEng, GPS
• technology, and MS Office is considered a strong asset

Compensation

At HAF we reward hard working employees with fair wages. The selected candidate will be
compensated with an annual salary of $40,000 - $51,000 depending on skill and experience
levels. No benefit package is provided for this position; however, there is opportunity for the
right employee to be promoted into supervisory positions which include benefits.
