A leading forestry business in Alberta is currently searching for a Forestry Technician to join their woodlands team and support the continued growth of the business. This role offers the successful candidate a fantastic opportunity to learn from experienced, industry leading professionals and take on increasing levels of responsibility in a fantastic team environment.

As part of this team, you will focus on the planning and development of the forest tenures using ArcGIS and ensure that the proposed cuts create the desired fibre supply to the mills. You will work closely with other departments including harvesting, operations and contractors to ensure that the actual cuts are in line with the plans.  You will also manage the data from these aspects of the process and provide assessments of where improvements could be made in the future. This role requires a clear communicator who can effectively manage relationships with government bodies and external stakeholders such as First Nations groups.

To be suitable for this role you will have a Technical Diploma in Forestry and ideally be registered as a FIT or RFT or be eligible to within the near future. As an experienced forest technician, you will have three or more years of experience in the forest industry. You will be looking to join a company who can challenge and develop your current set of skills and take you towards either a management position or a senior technical role. To be suitable for this position, you must be able to work in Canada.
