Forestry Supervisor (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

Weyerhaeuser’s British Columbia Timberlands is looking for a Forestry Supervisor who will be working as part of the Okanagan Falls Field Office and will be reporting to the Princeton Timberlands Silviculture Forester. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various silviculture activities while also providing safety and environmental leadership.
Key Functions:
  • Providing safety and environmental leadership.
  • Developing and implementing silviculture treatments.
  • Supervising contractors in planting, site preparation, stand tending and surveys.
  • Developing and managing the annual silviculture program budget.
  • Maintaining a positive relationship with government agencies, stakeholders and the general public.
  • Silviculture recordkeeping and submission of reports to government.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team members and a diverse group of customers and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Results orientated and an ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Working knowledge of British Columbia forestry legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Registered Professional Forester in British Columbia
  • A minimum of 2 years silviculture related experience.
