Forestry Supervisor Job Requirements:
Language: English
Experience: 5 years or more
Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
Workers Supervised: Logging and forestry labourers; Logging machinery operators
Specific Skills:
- Train or arrange for training;
- Prepare and submit reports;
- Oversee safety of operations;
- Establish work schedules;
- Ensure adherence to government regulations;
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers;
- Hire and train or arrange for training of staff;
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve work methods;
- Determine logging operation methods, crew sizes and equipment requirements
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Work Site Environment: Dangerous; Outdoors; Wet/damp; Noisy
Transportation/Travel Information: Vehicle supplied by employer; Willing to travel; Valid driver's licence
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure; Attention to detail; Combination of sitting, standing, walking; Large workload
Ability to Supervise: 11-15 people

Compensation
Salary: $45,000 to $60,000 annually for 40 to 60 hours per week
