A key player in the Canadian forestry industry is currently searching for a Forestry Engineer for their operations on Vancouver Island. This role will give an experienced coastal forester the opportunity to work with a fantastic team in one leading locations for forestry in Canada.
Located on Vancouver Island, this position offers the opportunity to become part of a unique community that enjoys one of the best lifestyles in Canada. In this role, the Forestry Engineer will be involved in all aspects of forestry development, including harvesting, planning and environmental management. On a day-to-day basis the successful candidate will be working with a team to ensure that land management is conducted effectively, ensuring that development is made in a sustainable manner. This role may also involve managing external contractors, requiring the successful candidate to be a clear communicator who is confident and well organized. Due to the nature of forestry on Vancouver Island, preference will be given to those with a strong knowledge of regulatory procedures in coastal forestry environments.
To be suitable for this role, you will ideally have over six years of coastal forestry experience, coupled with a bachelor’s degree in Forestry. You will be an individual capable of operating in both an office and field environment, with a passion for coastal forestry management. Ideally you will be a RPF or technician in British Columbia, or be eligible to register.
