POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Forestry Coordinator is responsible for information systems data entry, maintenance, reporting,  and  troubleshooting Woodlands Information Management Systems.   The position will also require coordinating silviculture activities to achieve free growing reforestation obligations.  Responsibilities include implementing safe, environmentally responsible, cost effective and quality silviculture activities while meeting all internal and legislated reporting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong computer expertise – proficient in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint;
  • Proficiency in forestry data bases, including Phoenix, Forest Ops, Spar, and Results is required;
  • 2 years’ related experience;
  • Demonstrated understanding of silviculture and forest management principles ;
  • Knowledge of BC policy, guidelines, regulations and legislation affecting forestry, safety and environmental compliance.
