Forestry Controller: Okanagan Region (Accounting & Finance)

A small forestry company located in the Okanagan region of BC is looking for a Controller to oversee one of their top mills. This role will oversee junior accounting, admin and IT staff and report directly up to the group’s CFO. The reporting structure is relatively flat at this company and traditionally, laid back yet highly intelligent and highly qualified individuals fill roles at this level.

The Key accountabilities for this role include:

· Overseeing all financial operations for the mill

· Produce all financial analysis for the mill

· Support, supervise and mentor individuals working within the finance and accounting function; liaise with the corporate staff

· Budgeting and analysis of actuals

· Manage cash flow

· Oversee legal and insurance implications for the mill

· Oversee financial information flowing into head office from the site, assist with business planning and the development of key business systems

The following would be considered requirements:

· Accounting Designation (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA)

· Forestry experience

· Experience as a supervisor within a site

· Excellent communication skills
