Forestry Carbon Manager (Environmental)

Manager, Forestry Carbon
With exceptional project management skills and experience in the fields of sustainability, and carbon management and accounting, that will help COAC achieve its business and environmental goals in the Foresty Carbon division, you will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in these areas.

The Manager, Forestry Carbon reports directly into the CEO.

Key areas of accountability for this role are:
• Developing a business and sustainability plan for the Forestry Carbon project.
• Manage the operations of Forestry Carbon projects.
• Quantify the Greenhouse Gas emissions of client organization to be offseted by COAC’s carbon sequestration projects.
• Quantify Sources, Sinks and Pools (SSP) of COAC’s Forestry Carbon projects.
• Identify business opportunities in related Carbon, Environmental, and Sustainability areas that align with COAC’s current and potential capacities.
• Work with Forestry and Silviculture contractors in the Forestry Carbon projects.
• Identify opportunities in other regions (nationally and internationally, especially South America) for the development of additional Forestry Carbon projects.
• Develop a Sustainability plan for COAC.
• Quantify and reduce COAC’s carbon footprint.

Technical Competencies
• In depth knowledge of Environmental and Climate Change issues and policies.
• Strong business background.
• Experience in Sustainability Management.
• Fluent in Spanish would be an asset, as COAC is exploring expansion of Forestry Carbon projects to Latin America.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Proven experience writing grants and business proposals.
• Certification in Quantification of Greenhouse Gases and additional Carbon Quantification Certifications an asset.

Education
• Academic training in both Business and Environmental areas is a preferred characteristic.
• A master’s degree in areas such as Environmental Studies, Climate Change, and Natural Resource Management is an asset.

Experience
• 5 years or more.

Compensation

$60,000.00/Annually
