Background:Northwest Hardwoods is the premier Hardwood Lumber producer in the industry serving the furniture, cabinet, molding and millwork segments worldwide.  We operate manufacturing operations throughout the United States and our forestry licenses in British Columbia. 

Key Functions:  Responsible for Managing Silviculture & Engineering related to Forest Licenses and other business the company may participate in. Personal, team and contractor safety compliance required. Supply quality logs, participate in strategic plans to maintain and gain access to timber, manage and promote positive supplier relationships, and provide technical assistance to landowners (i.e. timber cruising/appraisals and marking). Comply with legal and applicable agency requirements. Interface with landowners, contractors, government representatives and manufacturing personnel to ensure accurate and continuous supply.

Job Requirements:

  • RPF with strong Forestry and Engineering background desired
  • Minimum of 10 years BC Coastal experience desired
  • Good working knowledge or BC Forest regulations and legistlation
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office; Word and Excel
  • Familiar and able to use
    • RESULTS and ECAS systems
    • Arcview 3.3 or newer mapping program
    • GPS, preferably Trimble GEO Xt
    • Road Eng
    • JRPs survey wizard program
  • Timber cruising background desired
  • Strong work safe background
  • Alder management experience desired
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication skills – written and oral
  • Availability to travel required 
  • Willing to be part of a diverse team and business operating up and down the coast of BC
