Merrill & Ring seeks an entry to mid-level forester to join our forest management team in Port Angeles, WA.
Minimum qualifications require either a bachelor of science in forestry or associate of arts in forest technology plus two years of experience.
Specific responsibilities will be determined based on the successful applicant’s abilities and experience.
These responsibilities may include:
- Road maintenance planning, inventory, permitting and contract compliance
- Road construction layout, permitting and contract compliance
- Harvest unit planning, layout and permitting
- Timber inventory of merchantable stands
- Assist in the appraisal of potential purchases
- Assist in silviculture planning and contract compliance
- Budgeting for all assigned responsibilities
- GPS/GIS mapping of all assigned responsibilities
- Participation in industry, regulatory and stakeholder meetings and forums
Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree or Associate of Arts in Forest Technology plus two years experience. Must be capable of working alone in steep, brushy forest conditions in all kinds of weather.
