Forester I (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

This position supports the management of Westervelt forest land for economic, recreation, and conservation purposes. This position will be involved in all aspects of forest management and wood procurement including but not limited to reforestation, land acquisition, silviculture, timber cruising, site preparation, tree improvement, and seed orchard activities.

• B.S. or higher degree in Forest Management or related field.

• Must have, or able to obtain, Registered Forester's License.

• Must be self motivated and able to to operate without direct supervision.

• Previous field experience in forest management or procurement preferred.

• Must be strong in forest economics, and possess a working knowledge of forestry based software, including growth and yield models, data recorders and GPS.

• Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills, as well as ability to effectively work in a team environment with associates.
