Forester / Technician (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Primary responsibilities will be completing forest inventories, timber marking, collecting GPS field data, logging supervision, reforestation, timber-sale preparations, prescribed burning, and other detailed organizational skills with files and paper work.  Occasional out of town reforestation and/or inventory work will be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Includes the ability to traverse distances over one mile on uneven terrain; work in outdoor forested areas for extended periods in a variety of environmental conditions; occasionally carry 5 to 10 pounds of equipment over longer distances for extended periods of time.  Must be able to work independently during a work week and complete tasks in a timely manner. 

REQUIREMENTS:   We are seeking a highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.  A minimum two year forestry degree is required. An additional 2 to 3 years experience in a similar forestry field is preferred. Computer skills in Microsoft Office Excel and Word will be necessary. Good written and verbal communication skills are required.  Experience with GIS is a plus.
