Forest Fire Fighter (Urban Forestry)

The candidate will implement a basic knowledge of wildland fire suppression organization structure, wildfire behavior, plus suppression and safety procedures. Utilizing practical skills with equipment used in BC ( hand tools, pumps, hoses) to effectively and safely extinguish wildfires are a mandatory component for candidates. Candidates may be also be required to travel with our crews to locations throughout BC to where fires are burning.

Candidates require two mandatory fire suppression courses. The S100 and S185. They are also required to attend a job Orientation and fitness test. 

Upon successful completion of the courses candidates will receive the S-100 Basic Fire Suppression & Safety & the S185 Fire Entrapment Avoidance certificates.
