Our client is a globally recognized organization in the paper and pulp industry, known for staff development and employee longevity. They are currently in need of an Engineering Manager to assist with the Vancouver Island operations. This is a great opportunity for future advancement for a knowledgeable hands-on leader. Job Description

  • Participate in the development of operation and engineering objectives, where you will actively pursue the improvement and implementation of safety, environmental compliance, workforce engagement and reliability in day-to-day operations
  • Assist in creating and implementation of the company’s strategic plan
  • Lead the development of major maintenance plans, assist in the preparation of the annual budget and ensure execution of these into your department
  • Ensure standard SOP and polices are effective and maintained
  • Lead, manage and develop a team of Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineers continuing to foster a positive culture
  • Manage scheduling and tracking of routine maintenance, along with inventory and workforce coordination
  • Work closely with other department managers to maximize cross functional effectiveness

This company will expect from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
  • 10 years + experience in heavy industry – pulp and paper an asset
  • Strong project management knowledge
  • Analytical with the ability to create and implement innovative solutions to manufacturing problems
  • Proven leadership experience in a similar role
  • Registered Professional Engineer with APEGBC a must
