This electrical systems installation and maintenance role will appeal to a qualified self starter looking to join a supportive team environment. Whether you are based out of our Crofton or Port Alberni facilities on Vancouver Island, you can expect to pursue a rewarding career in a region renowned for its coastal scenery and relaxed pace of life. Applying your knowledge of maintenance best practices, you will install, maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems as part of a team with a strong focus on safety, environmental responsibility and reliable operation.
Following electrical safe work practices (as defined in the CEC and Z462-12), you will specifically:
• use a variety of resources and test equipment to safely troubleshoot and maintain complex industrial process equipment
• use PLC programming tools to control and interrogate mill logic and mill process equipment
• work with other trades in a flexible team environment to achieve greater efficiency and productivity
• assist Operations in running and troubleshooting mill process equipment
• perform routine inspections of mill electrical equipment
• use a computerized maintenance management system to enter work requests and purchase materials and supplies as required.
As a qualified Electrician, you are equipped with credentials and a skill set that includes:
• an Electrical Red Seal certificate of qualification
• a valid driver’s licence
• proven troubleshooting skills
• superior interpersonal and coaching capabilities
• the ability to work flexibly.
