Our client, a global forestry company based in Vancouver, is looking for an Electrical / Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor for their operations on Vancouver Island. This is a leadership role with responsibility for keeping operations running smoothly, safely and maximizing the plant efficiency.
Job responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Supervision of maintenance staff through daily operations with high attention to safe procedures
- Ensure high quality of product output, cost effectiveness and maximized production through machinery maintenance
- Trouble shoot and problem solve
- Train and motivate current and new employees

Candidate Requirements
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education in electrical / instrumentation or an electrical trade along with significant maintenance experience. You will also have the ability to lead and direct a team.
In addition to the technical and management experience, the personality and corporate culture fit of the candidate will be critical in the selection.
Other desirable attributes include:
- Minimum 5yrs experience in an industrial manufacturing facility with pulp and paper experience being an asset
- Expert in maintenance systems and overall manufacturing operations
- Comprehensive knowledge of Worksafe BC policy and procedure
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with maintenance scheduling software is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
